OREANDA-NEWS Russia and South Sudan are interested in implementing projects for the extraction of oil and other types of mineral raw materials, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation reported.

"Mutual interest in projects for the development and production of oil fields and other types of mineral raw materials was emphasized," the ministry said in a statement following the visit of Russian Deputy Energy Minister Roman Marshavin to South Sudan.

During the visit, Marshavin held a series of meetings with the republic's leadership. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
