OREANDA-NEWS Among African countries, Russians are most interested in Tanzania: tourists have started searching for tickets in this direction three times more often. These data are provided by the ticket‑leakage service “Kupibilet”; the material came into the possession of Lenta.ru.

At the same time, fewer people actually make a purchase, experts noted. A similar situation is observed with Tunisia and South Africa: searches have increased by 86 and 20 percent, respectively, but there aren’t as many bookings. Morocco is also listed among the most popular countries in Africa: Russians’ interest in this country increased by 53 percent over the year, and the number of purchased air tickets increased by 137 percent.

“Searches clearly demonstrate interest in the destination, but they do not always mean a willingness to buy a ticket right away. The gap is particularly noticeable in the case of Tanzania: interest has grown by more than three times, yet people are booking the destination less frequently. Morocco, on the contrary, is now better than other countries under consideration at turning travelers’ interest into actual trips,” the press service of Kupibilet noted.
