OREANDA-NEWS Alexey Mordashov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severstal, topped the Forbes magazine's ranking of Russian billionaires. The corresponding rating for 2026 appeared on the publication's website.
Mordashov's fortune is estimated at $37 billion, which is a historical record for Russians. According to the publication, this was facilitated by an increase in the value of the billionaire-owned gold mining company Nordgold.
The second place in the rating was taken by the owner of Interros, the head of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin. His fortune is estimated at $29.7 billion.
Vagit Alekperov, the owner of Lukoil, rounded out the top three, with an estimated net worth of $29.5 billion.
Earlier, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich appealed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in order to recognize the illegitimate actions of the British court, which froze his assets.
