OREANDA-NEWS The number of victims of the devastating earthquake in Venezuela has increased to 3,342. More than 16,000 people were injured, according to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, on the Telegram channel.

At the same time, 6462 people were saved alive and unharmed. This value has not changed over the past two days, and the number of those who could not be saved has increased by 388.

According to the latest data, 86.79 thousand families affected by the earthquake have already received assistance. 17.35 thousand people were left homeless. The disaster damaged 856 buildings in the country — 190 of them completely collapsed.

Earlier, the UN called the approximate damage from the earthquake in Venezuela. According to experts, the amount can reach 6.7 billion dollars, which is almost six percent of the GDP of the Latin American country.

A powerful earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred in Venezuela on the night of June 25. The center was located at a depth of 13 kilometers, and its epicenter was 60 kilometers from the city of Valencia. It was followed by another 7.5 magnitude earthquake, followed by 30 more tremors.
