OREANDA-NEWS The number of American servicemen injured during the fighting against Iran has exceeded 600, according to updated Pentagon data.
As of July 27, a total of 624 US military personnel were injured in various degrees of severity. Most of them (461 people) are members of the US Army.
The number of injured significantly exceeds the previous peak of 482 recorded last week. The reason was that the Pentagon divided the losses associated with the fighting against Iran into two categories: Operation Epic Fury, which was conducted on February 28, and "foreign operations", which began on July 7.
As a result, the Pentagon's data indicates that 417 people were injured and 14 died during Operation Epic Fury, while 207 were injured and four died during "overseas operations." Combined, these two operations show that a total of 624 soldiers were injured and 18 died.
The change in casualty statistics - both wounded and dead - has already been criticized in the American media as undermining the transparency of the data provided by the Pentagon.
