OREANDA-NEWS  The proposal of Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili to hold a referendum on the country's foreign policy is speculation. This was stated by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, Sputnik Georgia reports on the Telegram channel.

Papuashvili commented on Zurabishvili's proposal to collect signatures on holding a referendum among protesters against the law on foreign agents. In his opinion, the idea was not invented by the Georgian president, but by Western politicians.

"It's not serious, it's speculation. They [the plans] do not coincide with the will of the people," the politician said.

On May 28, Zurabishvili addressed the idea of a referendum to the protesters against the law on foreign agents gathered in front of parliament. She urged them to direct their energy to collecting signatures.
