OREANDA-NEWS. A small private plane left behind considerable destruction. Almost completely destroyed one of the buildings — at least two people died, two more are now in the hospital. Several victims were rescued by neighbors who pulled people out through the windows of a burning house.

The accident happened in the suburbs of San Diego, California. Cessna C340 twin-engine plane crashed. The plane crashed into a truck and then into two nearby houses, which instantly collapsed, the Daily Mail reports. In total, about 12 buildings were damaged as a result of the crash, CBS 8 reports.

According to the authorities, two people were killed. This is a truck driver and an airplane pilot — a local cardiologist doctor Sugate Das. It is known that he lived in San Diego and worked in Yuma, so he often flew between them.

It is noted that the plane crashed while landing two or three blocks from the high school. Air traffic controllers could be heard begging the plane to gain altitude moments before the crash. The cause of the incident is still unknown, it will be established by law enforcement.
