The post-Soviet country increased purchases of Russian wheat by 16 times

OREANDA-NEWS From January to August 2026, Russian wheat supplies to Uzbekistan increased almost 16-fold. This was reported by "Agroexport".
It turned out that during the specified period, Russia exported to Uzbekistan more than 71 thousand tons of wheat worth more than 12.6 million dollars. Compared to the first eight months of 2026, exports increased 15.9 times in physical terms and 13.4 times in value.
It is noted that in the last month of summer, Uzbekistan received more than 65 thousand tons. This was the absolute maximum in terms of supplies in the entire history of observations. The previous record was recorded in September 2022, when it was 11 thousand tons.
According to Vladimir Petrichenko, the head of "ProSerno", in the last few months Turkey, which was previously considered the second key importer of Russian wheat, has sharply reduced these imports. By now, the share of this country in the structure of Russian wheat exports has fallen to two percent.
In the second decade of September, the number of countries buying Russian wheat decreased to 8, compared with 29 a year ago.
