OREANDA-NEWS  The majority of the deputies present at the meeting of the Parliament of Mongolia supported the proposal to introduce a state of emergency in the capital of the country — Ulaanbaatar. The publication writes that a decree of the President of Mongolia is needed to introduce such a regime.

Despite the fact that the proposal was sent to the National Security Council of Mongolia, President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene stated that there was no need to introduce a state of emergency, the portal writes.

On December 4, protests against corruption and plundering of the country's mineral resources began in the capital of Mongolia. By the evening of the same day, the protesters at the government building in Ulaanbaatar dispersed, but the next day the protests resumed. Demonstrators tried to break into the government building, as a result of the stampede, four victims were reported.
The Mongolian Ministry of Justice promised to disperse the crowd of protesters by force if it does not disperse in the coming hours.
