OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron are engaged in a serious dialogue to resolve the crisis in Ukraine. This was stated at a press conference in Paris by Russian Ambassador Alexei Meshkov, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

“There is a very serious professional dialogue between the presidents [of Russia and France], between the teams of the presidents, aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis,” Meshkov said.

The diplomat also expressed confidence that the dialogue between the leaders of the two countries on this issue would continue.

Earlier, Macron said that he was going to have a new telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin in the near future. The press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that the president’s schedule for March 15 did not include a conversation with his French counterpart.

On March 12, telephone conversations between Putin, Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz took place. The main topic of the conversation was issues related to the agreements being worked out on the implementation of Russian requirements on Ukraine. In addition, the leaders discussed the humanitarian situation in the areas of the special military operation.
