OREANDA-NEWS  NATO's actions against Russia's strategic capabilities on the Kola Peninsula threaten a direct military clash. This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Norway Nikolai Korchunov in an interview with TASS.

"The approach of NATO countries' military infrastructure and offensive weapons systems to our borders certainly poses a threat to Russia's national security," the diplomat said.

The Ambassador stressed that the escalation of the alliance's confrontational activities undermines security in the Arctic and global stability. According to him, this increases the risks of unintended escalation and "sliding into a direct military clash with fatal consequences for all."

Earlier, RT reported that Britain is increasing its military activity in the Arctic and threatening to seize the Russian shadow fleet. It was claimed that London has significantly increased its intelligence activities against Russia in the last six months, including paying attention to warships.
