OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian military continues to work to eliminate the consequences after the devastating earthquake in Syria: five rubble was dismantled, five dead were found, 11 citizens received medical assistance, Major General Oleg Egorov, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, said at a briefing.

On the morning of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.7 occurred in the south-east of Turkey, it also affected Syria. The earthquake, according to Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, was the strongest since 1939. On Monday afternoon, another earthquake of magnitude 7.6 occurred. According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on Tuesday, more than 1.5 thousand people became victims of the earthquake in Syria, more than 3.5 thousand were injured. "During the rescue operations with the participation of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, five rubble was dismantled, the bodies of five victims were recovered, medical assistance was provided to 11 citizens," Egorov said at a briefing. He specified that 53 doses of donated blood were taken from Russian servicemen at four deployed donor points in Aleppo, Hama, Jableh, and Stam during the day, a total of 230 doses of donated blood were taken. Also in the provinces of Aleppo and Latakia, there are three points for the issuance of humanitarian aid, more than 6.5 tons of food have been issued over the past day.
