OREANDA-NEWS  The second flash of the penultimate power class was recorded on the Sun. This was told to TASS at the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG").

"On August 28, at 20:11 Moscow time, an M1.3 flash lasting 28 minutes was recorded in the X—ray range in the group of spots 4203 (N10W88)," the experts noted.

Earlier it became known about the M1.1 flare, according to the forecast of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI RAS and the ISSF SB RAS dated August 28, an increase in flare activity is expected.

Solar flares, depending on the X-ray power, are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and X.

Earlier, physicists said that the strongest solar flare since mid-June caused a magnetic storm on Earth, which can negatively affect the well-being of some people and cause radio interference.

On August 25, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the IKI RAS reported that the Sun had recorded its strongest flare since June 20. The event was classified into the fourth category according to a five-point system.
