OREANDA-NEWS  Differences remain in the EU on the 10th package of sanctions against Russia: Permanent representatives of the Community States cannot approve new restrictions for the second day.

One of the controversial points was synthetic rubber, the import of which the European Commission (EC) wants to limit.

"Countries such as Italy and Germany are skeptical about banning this product, while Poland supports its ban," the publication says.

The EU plans to adopt the next, tenth package of sanctions against Moscow by February 24. The blacklist may include about 130 individuals and legal entities, including journalists and military officials. Additional trade bans on imports of Russian rubber and asphalt or bitumen to the EU are expected.

Also, a new round of restrictions involves the introduction of additional trade bans on the export of goods from the EU to the Russian Federation, including trucks, as well as construction equipment.

The European Union intends to blacklist 62 more people and 28 organizations, including three banks: Alfa-Bank, Tinkoff and Rosbank. Sanctions are also expected to be imposed on the National Welfare Fund, Ingosstrakh insurance company, Patriot and Rossiya Segodnya media groups, as well as the All-Russian Popular Front public movement. In addition, the London company Powell Shipping, which is accused of "illegal export of Ukrainian grain," should be sanctioned.
