OREANDA-NEWS  The plans of the Moldovan authorities to fight the supply of Russian mayonnaise will not add to the country's sovereignty, the rejection of partnership with Russia only undermines the foundations of Moldova's statehood, said State Duma deputy Alyona Arshinova (United Russia).

The Moldovan parliament held a closed session on Thursday to approve the overall structure and strength of the national army. Vasily Kostyuk, a deputy from the opposition House Democracy party, reported that the meeting also discussed a possible fight against the supply of Russian mayonnaise to the republic, which currently accounts for 62% of the Moldovan market.

"If the Boston Tea Party in the United States led to the sovereignty of the country, then the desperate struggle of the Moldovan authorities with Russian mayonnaise will not add to their sovereignty. The ardent militarization of the country, the rejection of cheap Russian energy products and the sales market, the rejection of partnership and good-neighborly cooperation with Russia undermines the foundations of Moldova's statehood," Arshinova told RIA Novosti.
The MP added that Russian mayonnaise, in the opinion of Moldovan parliamentarians, poses a more serious threat to Moldovan sovereignty than the Romanian intervention.
