OREANDA-NEWS  The head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, called false information that in the spring of 2025 he allegedly ordered the suspension of cyber operations against Russia. The official's words are reported by TASS.

"I know what article you're talking about, and it's false. I said it then, and I will say it now," said Hegseth, commenting on the publications of the American media, which cited this information.

In this regard, the US Secretary of Defense was asked if his statements could be considered confirmation that he did not give the order to "pause offensive cyber operations against Russia." "We didn't do that," Hegseth replied.

In mid-May, the head of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity of the House Armed Services Committee, John Bacon, stated that the United States had indeed suspended cyber operations against Russia, but it was a one-day pause.
