OREANDA-NEWS   The Office for Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has amended the sanctions lists for a number of Russian companies in the fields of IT, industry and defense engineering. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

The US Treasury Department explained that the adjustments are technical in nature: duplicate items are eliminated and outdated information is updated, while the restrictive measures themselves are not lifted.

In particular, repeated entries about the Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center, former Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov and the Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant named after Plandin are excluded from the lists. Data on Polema, Special Photonics Systems, and Modern Technologies have also been updated.

Regarding Corus Consulting CIS and the United Engine Corporation (UEC), the wording has been clarified that organizations are subject to restrictions related to access to American financing. For Technopromexport, OFAC has combined different versions of the company's name into a single sanctions block. At the same time, all previously introduced restrictions remain in force.

In addition, the sanctions regime against the TASCA tanker has been expanded — US restrictive measures on the Iranian program have been additionally extended to the vessel.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian leader, said that Western countries have fewer and fewer opportunities to impose new sanctions against Russia that would not affect their own interests.
