OREANDA-NEWS U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink is "returning home," State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said.

"She's coming home. We wish her the best," Bruce said at a briefing in response to a request to confirm Brink's resignation.

Earlier, American media reported that Brink was planning to resign due to an "unusual combination of personal and political problems," including recent layoffs at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
