OREANDA-NEWS A US war with Russia is possible in the next decade. The risks of such a scenario were assessed by the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milli, RIA Novosti reports.

"If Ukraine loses, and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin will win, I think the defense budget will increase significantly in the coming years, if not double. The risk of a superpower war will increase in the next 10-15 years," he said.

Milli also added that the course of the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian forces turned out to be long, difficult and extremely bloody.

Earlier, former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that NATO would suffer a crushing defeat in the shortest possible time in the event of a collision with Russia.
