OREANDA-NEWS  A strong earthquake was recorded in Turkey. Its magnitude was 5.1, according to the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

The tremors began at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 24. The epicenter was located northwest of the city of Sanliurfa, the center was located at a depth of ten kilometers. There was no information about injured people or damage.

Earlier it was reported that an earthquake of magnitude 4.6 occurred near the southern Kuril Islands. Aftershocks were recorded on the night of September 24. The earthquake was the second in the area in recent times. The first one happened on September 23, its magnitude was 4.4.
