OREANDA-NEWS Russian tourists went rafting on Lake Ladoga and disappeared, according to the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Karelia. The men arrived in the Lahdenpokh district to kayak on Lake Ladoga, but a few days later they stopped contacting.

«On April 30, three residents of St. Petersburg went out <...> by kayak into the waters of Lake Ladoga and have not returned to date. The last time we got in touch at 13-46 on May 3. Search and rescue operations are being carried out», the report says.

As specified by the Russian media KP.ru, a kayak with goods was found on the shore, but the tourists themselves have not yet been found. Local residents are asked to help with the search or provide any information about the possible location of tourists. The administration of the Sortavala settlement recalled that navigation on Ladoga is not yet open due to strong winds and unstable weather.

Earlier it was reported that four tourists, including a schoolgirl, disappeared during kayaking on the Gorin River of the Khabarovsk Territory. The group was not registered, people did not get in touch within the prescribed period. The prosecutor's office of the area where the tourists disappeared, began checking on this fact.
