OREANDA-NEWS   US President Donald Trump is once again optimistic about Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.

"For more than a year, President Trump has insisted in private conversations with advisers that Ukraine is losing the war. However (...) In recent weeks, he has expressed new optimism about Ukraine and its leader, Vladimir Zelensky," the newspaper quoted his interlocutors as saying.

According to sources, these changes occurred after several meetings on the sidelines of global summits, where Zelensky tried to charm Trump. It is clarified that this strategy of the President of Ukraine is part of a targeted campaign by European leaders to improve relations with the United States.

Earlier, Harry Nedelku, senior director of Rasmussen Global, a European consulting company, said that resolving the conflict in Ukraine was coming to the fore for Trump. He noted that Zelensky can also help Trump strengthen the authority of his administration.
