OREANDA-NEWS US President Donald Trump has criticized Pope Leo XIV for supporting Iran. He wrote his statement on the Truth Social network.

According to him, the pontiff is "terrible in foreign policy" and "weak" in the face of crime. The American leader noted that he was not satisfied with the Pope's policy. "I don't want the pope to think that Iran can be allowed to have nuclear weapons. I don't want the pope to think it's terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a country that sent huge amounts of drugs to the United States and, even worse, liberated its prisons, including from murderers, drug dealers and killers, to our country," he said.

Earlier, Pope Leo XIV criticized the words of Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth, who compared the US war with Iran to the battle "in the name of Jesus Christ."
