OREANDA-NEWS  The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said he would call Vladimir Putin soon. The politician said this in response to a question from journalists about a conversation with his Russian counterpart, the press conference was broadcast on the White House YouTube channel.

"I have a call scheduled. Today is his birthday. Today is Vladimir Putin's birthday," Trump stressed.

In addition, the politician said that "he has ended eight wars and another one is on the way." He also suggested that he was able to prevent the "total destruction of the world" and can "do whatever he wants."

On October 1, Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Donald Trump for his efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The head of the Russian Federation also noted that he has "quite good long-term relations" with his American counterpart.

Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia was "only in favor" of a trilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Trump.
