OREANDA-NEWS  Turkey and Pakistan plan to deploy their military contingents in Saudi Arabia. The relevant decision was made following a meeting of the strategic political and defense Committee of the Mecca Alliance. The Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom announced this on the social network X.

The meeting of representatives of the departments took place in Riyadh. The main topic of the discussion was the current security situation and the assessment of threats directed against the Saudi Kingdom. Following the talks, the parties agreed on an immediate transition to the practical implementation of collective defense obligations. This includes the allocation of coordinated military formations and military capabilities, as well as ensuring their operational deployment in accordance with previously approved agreements.

The committee members strongly condemned any attempts to attack the cities of Mecca and Medina, as well as attacks on the civilian and economic infrastructure of Saudi Arabia. The document emphasizes that the security of each of the three participating States is an integral part of their common collective security.

On August 7, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif signed a memorandum on collective defense. The memorandum provides for the development of all aspects of defense cooperation between the three countries and is aimed at collectively deterring any forms of aggression from other countries.
