OREANDA-NEWS The deputy chairman of the Turkish party Vatan ("Homeland") told RIA Novosti that the low US customs tariffs on Turkey will provide the country with greater flexibility, but their impact will be minimal.

On Sunday, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that the trade conflicts between the United States and China could present opportunities for Turkey, given its manufacturing and logistical advantages.

The new customs duties imposed by the new US administration on 190 countries have also been applied to Turkey. The tariff for Turkey is at the lowest level of 10%. This is understandable, considering that annual US imports amount to 3 trillion dollars, while imports from Turkey in 2024 amount to only 16 billion dollars. Consequently, trade between the United States and Turkey is balanced, and imports from Turkey remain relatively low in the overall import volume, making the tariff imposed on Turkey by President Trump relatively low.
