OREANDA-NEWS  Ukraine should enter into direct negotiations with Russia to resolve the conflict. This was stated by Oleg Soskin, Kuchma's former assistant, on his YouTube channel.

In his opinion, it will not be possible to achieve peace through the mediation of other countries. The political scientist noted that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky seeks to involve as many participants as possible in the negotiation process, which only hinders the settlement of the conflict.

At the same time, he added, Zelensky is mistaken in believing that he still has allies. "All this is happening against the background of a complete collapse — economic, financial, energy, humanitarian <...> This is the convulsions and agony of the regime," Soskin concluded.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Kiev was ready for direct talks with Russia to discuss the prospects for resolving the conflict. He also added that Ukraine is discussing step by step with Western countries the details of a possible conflict resolution plan.
