OREANDA-NEWS ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine's largest mining and metallurgical company (formerly Kryvorizhstal, part of the international corporation ArcelorMittal), announced on Wednesday that it had been forced to shut down its mining and steel production facilities due to logistical issues with the Ukrainian Railways (Ukrzaliznytsia).
ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih reports on the shutdown of mining and steel production facilities due to disruptions in the provision of logistics services by JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, according to a statement published on the company's Facebook* page.
As reported by the company, over the past month, the enterprise has not received the necessary volumes of raw materials to ensure continuous production, which has led to a critical decrease in its inventory levels. The report states that Ukrainian Railways is not delivering the key component of iron foundry production, without which the enterprise is unable to produce pig iron. Additionally, trains are not being provided for the shipment of produced concentrate, forcing the enterprise to halt the operation of its mining department.
