US lawmakers are demanding a report from the Pentagon on the situation on the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln

OREANDA-NEWS American Congressmen Mike Levin and Chuck Schumer criticized the US Department of War against the background of recent publications about the situation on board the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
"Today I am sending a letter to Secretary of State Hegseth and Acting Secretary of the Navy Kao demanding answers about what is happening on board the American warship Lincoln and about plans to fix these problems," Mike Levin, a member of the House of Representatives, wrote on the social network X.
He noted that the plans being developed to replace the aircraft carrier are not enough.
"We need clear and truthful information from the Ministry of War about operational failures that led to problems aboard the USS Lincoln to ensure that this never happens again," Levin stressed.
The legislator also posted a letter in his post, which was signed by four congressmen.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Democratic minority in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, called for Hegseth to be fired for incompetence.
"When Pete Hegseth was nominated, everyone knew he was completely incompetent. Now our brave sailors are paying the price in a terrible and incomprehensible way," Schumer wrote on the social network X.
The Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM), for its part, called false reports of severe conditions on board the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
"Over the past 48 hours, numerous media outlets have reported several false news stories related to the Abraham Lincoln shipment to the Middle East. One report claims that seven sailors were killed in a fight on board the aircraft carrier, while others suggest an increase in suicidal thoughts. These reports are false," the command said in a statement on the social network X.
CENTCOM assured that the military personnel "remain steadfast and determined after more than 260 days at sea."
Earlier, the head of the Pentagon called unfounded statements that the US military is facing difficult conditions on board the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
"Reports about conditions on board the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln have been completely distorted," The Hill quoted Hegseth as saying.
