Bimera signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Bank of Syria back in September last year. In early May, the regulator allowed banks and local companies providing electronic payment services to cooperate with global corporations, including American payment systems.

The return of Visa and Mastercard will reduce dependence on informal currency exchange systems, speed up and reduce the cost of this process, which will have a positive impact on the national economy.
