OREANDA-NEWS  The agreement on visa-free travel from Primorye to China may resume in February, said Arseniy Krepsky, head of the Primorsky Krai Tourism Agency.

"A meeting of the interdepartmental commission is scheduled for February 8, at which the current procedure for implementing the agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and China on visa-free group tourist trips will be approved. The results will be announced later," Krepsky wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, by the end of January, it was possible to obtain "basic approvals of state regulatory authorities," but the mechanism for registering lists of tour groups has not yet been approved. This will take extra time due to the Chinese New Year weekend in China, said Strong. Since January 8, passenger traffic has resumed through the coastal checkpoints Hunchun — Kraskino and Border — Suifenhe. The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang told RIA Novosti that restrictions on entry into the country have been lifted for all Russians with valid visas.
In early January, China lifted a number of anti-COVID restrictions that had been in effect since 2020, including mandatory quarantine and testing for COVID-19 upon arrival from abroad. Now only a negative PCR no older than 48 hours is needed for entry.
