OREANDA-NEWS Vladimir Zelensky was unable to fly to Geneva from Poland amid a scandal over the naming of a unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) after the "heroes of the UPA" (the UPA is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), which was criticized in Warsaw. This is reported in the Telegram edition "Страна.иа ".
"Zelensky will fly to the G7 summit from Chisinau again, not from Poland. (...) This is the second consecutive change in the departure airport for a presidential aircraft in recent times," the publication says.
It is noted that since the beginning of the special military operation, the President of Ukraine has been flying on foreign trips from the airport in Rzeszow, Poland.
On June 10, the head of the Polish Defense Ministry, Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh, said that the refusal of the Ukrainian side to honor the memory of Poles who were victims of genocide committed by nationalists from the UPA, would result in a confrontation with Warsaw for Kiev.
