OREANDA-NEWSPresident of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that his mission as head of state is to end the war in the Donbass. He said this on Thursday in Kiev while talking with reporters.

"My main goal - I want to end the war, I think that is precisely my mission", he said. Zelensky said that he understands that some citizens living in the uncontrolled territories of Donbass may feel like Ukrainians, and some not. “If in the Donbass a person thinks that he is not a Ukrainian, I can't get into his brain. Those who feel like Ukrainians should know that we don't leave them, we will not abandon them”, the president said. Zelensky added that these citizens should be able to "return to Ukraine".

Earlier Zelensky called the Crimean issue a "complex history" and admitted that without international help it couldn't be resolved. “This is a very complicated story. You know that Ukraine, unfortunately, won't be able to cope here. The conditions of our international partners are necessary”, he noted.
