OREANDA-NEWS  Vladimir Zelensky wrote in his telegram channel that he had discussed with French President Emmanuel Macron the situation in Russia and on the battlefield.

"We also discussed in detail the situation in Russia and on the battlefield.... We must act decisively, both militarily and politically. Therefore, it is very important that the summit in Vilnius be productive," Zelensky said.

Zelensky also said that he and Macron agreed together with the IAEA to keep the situation at the Zaporozhye NPP under maximum control. Zelensky himself called the conversation with the French president "as always useful and productive."

Zaporizhia NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River near the town of Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity – the station has six power units with a capacity of 1 gigawatt. In October 2022, the nuclear power plant became the property of the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian military continues to regularly shell Energodar and the territory of the Zaporozhye NPP adjacent to the city. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kiev regime seeks to create the appearance of a threat of a nuclear catastrophe by continuing to purposefully fire at the NPP. The International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly stated the need to create a safety zone around the NPP.
