OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2012. On February, 8th 2012 at the City Hall of Yaroslavl Region, a traditional working meeting between Sergey Vakhrukov, Governor of Yaroslavl Region and Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn CEO took place.

The head of the region and the company CEO discussed the fulfillment by NPO Saturn of the government defense order, ramping up serial production of the SaM146 engines powering the Sukhoi Superjet100 regional aircraft and the expansion of the company’s range of social programs.

Sergey Vakhrukov supported the idea of the NPO Saturn management to start in advance the production process in order to meet the deadlines of the government defense order regarding both the aerospace and special-purpose applications despite the fact that some contracts are still in preparation. A number of contracts in the interest of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation have already been signed and in the nearest future the contracts for the current year are expected to be entered into.

The governor pays constant attention to the realization of the SaM146 engine program, which on the instruction of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation stays under his personal control as a member of the NPO Saturn board of directors. The governor was pleased to hear when Ilya Fedorov, NPO Saturn spoke of the challenging but realistic plan of increasing three times the production of serial engines. Pursuant to the agreement reached with Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), NPO Saturn is to deliver to its customer 48 engines to be installed on the SSJ100 planes. And the crucial point is not only to meet the customer delivery schedule but also to ensure the best product quality and organize a fully operational customer support system.

The governor also spoke highly of the company’s fast-growing social orientation. Despite the uneasy economic period, NPO Saturn continues implementing a well though-out social policy incorporating welfare, housing accommodation, health programs for its employees, child birth benefits, summer recreational activities for the employees’ children as well as support of athletic, youth and veteran events. One of the company’s recent initiatives is the “Saturn discount program”. Expanding this program further, starting from February, 1st 2012 the employees of NPO Saturn working at the company’s main industrial site in Rybinsk are given a discount when buying a combo meal during their corporate lunch, as long as it is catered by the NPO Saturn catering service while the cost of one such hot meal is no more than 30 rubles.
