OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2008. The Cabinet of Ministers is planning to take into account Canadian experience while reforming civil service, Head of Ukraine's Main Department of Civil Service Tymofiy Morenko said.

He said that the implementation of the project for reforming human resources management in civil service would become one of the primary steps.

Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Abina Dann, in turn, said that the three-year project was part of technical aid rendered to Ukraine.

The Main Department of Civil Service called for the creation of a council of the heads of civil services of central authorities.

Motrenko said that the document on the need to create such a council had already been drafted and submitted for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers.

He said that such a body would control the implementation of staff policies in government bodies.
