OREANDA-NEWS The establishment of settlements between Turkey and the Russian Federation through third countries was not discussed during the bilateral talks between Ankara and Moscow, it is risky, a source in the banking sector told RIA Novosti on condition of anonymity.

Since January 1, Turkish exporters have faced bank refusals to accept money transfers from Russia. According to a RIA Novosti source, the problem is partly related to US pressure on Turkey in connection with sanctions.

"No, it wasn't discussed. This carries risks," the agency's interlocutor said in response to a request to comment on a number of rumors about the likelihood of using third countries in connection with the problem with payment transfers between Ankara and Moscow.
