Chewing gum has risen in price the most over the past year

OREANDA-NEWS Chewing gum was called the most expensive product. Over the year, the price of it has risen by almost a quarter, according to RBC with reference to Rosstat data.
Last March, the package cost 32 rubles, this year it is already 39 rubles. The price increase was 22%. In previous years, chewing gum also increased in price, but the annual rise in price was from 1 to 3 rubles per year. So, a year ago, gum rose in price by 7.5%, which was a record since 1999.
Experts attribute the price increase to the introduction of Western sanctions, which led to the acceleration of the dollar exchange rate, disruption of logistics chains of import supplies and mass suspension of business of foreign companies in Russia.
