OREANDA-NEWS  Citibank, which is part of the winding down Russian business of Citigroup, announced its intention to dismantle all its ATMs in the country by the end of 2023. This is reported by the press service of the credit institution.

The bank informed customers about the beginning of the process of termination of service at ATMs and reminded that most operations can be performed in the mobile version of the bank or in the application.

The intentions of the American Citigroup to wind down its business in Russia became known in August 2022. However, for the first time the company announced its desire to sell retail business in the country back in April 2021. At first, it was about abandoning consumer banking, and a year later the group decided to leave the corporate sector.

The bank planned to complete its main operations on the Russian market by April 2023. In October 2022, he sold his portfolio of consumer loans to Uralsib. In August of this year, Citibank stopped accepting and buying dollars and euros at cash desks, and also introduced a five percent commission for depositing such currency.
