Foreign banks earned 211 billion rubles in Russia over the year

OREANDA-NEWS The total profit of foreign banks in Russia in 2022 exceeded 211 billion rubles. Credit institutions under foreign control have attracted more funds, primarily from corporate clients, Kommersant reported.
The total net profit of banks controlled by non-residents exceeded 104% of the total profit of the sector (203.2 billion rubles). A year earlier, foreign banks earned 262.3 billion rubles. But they as a whole then accounted for only 11% of the total profit, follows from the statistics of the Central Bank.
In total, 108 banks with the participation of foreigners in the capital operate in Russia. At the beginning of the year, the regulator's statistics included 65 banks that are under the direct or indirect control of non-residents.
