OREANDA-NEWS  Vladimir Ilyichev, deputy head of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, in an interview with CGTN TV channel, said that the West's hopes for the collapse of the Russian economy due to sanctions were not justified, stressing that the country's economy is going to steady growth, TASS reports.

He clarified that the main Russian sectors of the economy managed to adapt to the sanctions pressure even faster than expected. "There was no extremely noticeable impact. We are gradually reaching a steady growth of our economy," the deputy Mayor said.

Ilyichev assured that currently Russians live almost the same life as before the sanctions, since the supply chains of a large number of goods have been rebuilt, and other brands have come to replace the brands that left the country.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin said that by the end of 2022, the Russian economy entered the top five largest economies in the world.
