OREANDA-NEWS The proposal to legalize digital rubles in Russia was made by State Duma deputy Sergei Mironov. The parliamentarian assumes that the soonest introduction will contribute to countering sanctions, Regnum media reports.

The official is inclined to believe that the issue of the digital ruble should be limited, and spending is directed to specific needs, for example, for housing construction, the development of production and transport infrastructure. He assumes that controlled emissions will help save the economy from rising inflation.

«The digital ruble should become a full-fledged investment and reserve currency for Russia», said Mironov. In addition, the deputy stressed that digital rubles will not be available for financial transactions in other countries, and misuse should be prohibited.

Recall that in February, under the supervision of the Russian regulator, the digital ruble was tested. The first transactions between clients were carried out by the sanctioned VTB and Promsvyazbank.
