OREANDA-NEWS The European Union (EU) countries have not reached an agreement on the 20th package of sanctions against Russia. This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, RIA Novosti reports.

"Unfortunately, we have not reached an agreement on the 20th package of sanctions," she said.

At the same time, according to Kai Kallas, work on the next package of anti-Russian sanctions continues. Earlier it was reported that Hungary refused to support the introduction of new sanctions against Russia. The country's Foreign Minister, Peter Szijjarto, explained that Budapest would block their adoption and the allocation of a new loan to Ukraine until the resumption of oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline.

Meanwhile, the American edition of The New York Times linked the blocking of new financial support to Ukraine with a critical moment for the country.
