OREANDA-NEWS  Shots were fired in the Senate of the Philippines against the background of the intention of the security forces to detain the senator on an ICC warrant, the Philippine newspaper PhilStar reports.

"Explosions or shots were fired in the Senate building, where Senator "Bato" (Ronald - ed.) dela Rosa is located... Shots of unknown origin continue... Since Monday, May 11, the Senate complex has become a haven for Senator "Bato" Dela Rosa, who is afraid of being detained on an International Criminal Court warrant," the publication says.

As the ABS-CBN TV channel explains, earlier in the Senate they announced the restriction of access to the building against the background of statements by local security officials about the planned detention of an unnamed person.
