The probability of the disappearance of cash in Russia has been assessed

OREANDA-NEWS There will always be categories of the population in Russia who prefer cash rubles to non-cash ones. This was stated by the former head of the Bank of Russia Sergey Dubinin. He was quoted by RTVI.
He explained that in the Russian Federation, and in any other country where a market economy has developed, most of the participants in transactions will continue to choose non-cash payments. However, there will always be about 5-10 percent of those who prefer cash. One of the reasons for this is the ingrained habit of avoiding paying taxes. And even an attempt to introduce a digital ruble will not change this situation. However, large transactions "will still be processed using non-cash funds."
Earlier, Maria Ermilova, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance for Sustainable Development at the Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics, called the formation of savings in cash a mistake. Instead, the money should be placed on a deposit or account in order to receive additional interest.
