OREANDA-NEWS Jerome Powell, the head of the Federal Reserve, responded to a question about threats to the economy in an interview with CBS. He noted that the US economy is currently at a "turning point".
Powell said this is due to widespread vaccination and strong fiscal and monetary support. "We feel like we are in a place where the economy will start to grow much faster and job creation will occur much faster", he said.
The head of the Fed added that the main risk to the economy remains the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, he recommended continuing to observe the precautions.
