Athletes from a record number of countries will compete at the Kazan Marathon 2026

OREANDA-NEWS Representatives of 30 foreign countries and 84 regions of Russia have registered to participate in the Kazan Marathon, which will be held on May 1-3 in the capital of Tatarstan.

This year we expect a Russian record from Vladimir Nikitin, who made his marathon debut in Kazan a year ago. Last year, 32-time Russian track and field champion Vladimir Nikitin set five official Russian records - 10 km on the highway, 10,000 m in the stadium, twice in the half marathon and 15 km. At the half marathon, he covered the distance in less than an hour, which no one in Russia had previously been able to do. In 2026, Nikitin is preparing to update the national marathon record for the marathon distance.
The Kazan Marathon starts on Friday, May 1, with the TIMERKIDS (3-10 years old) and TIMERBABY (4-36 months old) children's races. The next day, the participants of the 10 km and 3 km races will start.
On May 3, the Russian Marathon Championship will be held for the fifth anniversary time as part of the Kazan Marathon.
