OREANDA-NEWS Alexey Solovyov, Vice President of the Russian Football Union (RFU), noted that relations with the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) are gradually improving. He is quoted Odds.ru .

According to him, despite the external geopolitical difficulties, communication is gradually improving at the international level. "I see that the attitude of the international federations is generally getting better, and this inspires optimism.  There are people at the UEFA level, and when we visit them, communication becomes more constructive, more human," Solovyov said.

Russian national teams and clubs are banned from international tournaments. This decision was made by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA in the spring of 2022.

Earlier, RFU President Alexander Dyukov assessed the chances of Russian clubs returning to European competitions. He stated that there is a high probability that Russian national teams and clubs will return to international tournaments by the end of 2025.
