OREANDA-NEWS  On Tuesday, December 30, a rare natural phenomenon could be observed in the sky over Kemerovo — bright light pillars. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Emergency Incident Kuzbass".

Locals could see the fascinating phenomenon that arose due to the severe frost in the early morning. The Kemerovo Hydrometeorological Center noted that it had not been officially recorded in the region before.

Light pillars occur when light is reflected from ice crystals. The pillars themselves look smooth, narrow, and look like ice needles.

Five days ago, residents of the capital witnessed a similar phenomenon. In particular, the light poles were removed by residents of the Strogino district.
