OREANDA-NEWS Pavel Sedyakin, a Russian commander from Transbaikalia with the call sign Kenon, saved a platoon from attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of a special military operation. His story is published by RT.

According to the channel, in the fall of 2024, he shot down an enemy drone "Baba Yaga" with a machine gun, which saved an entire platoon. In May 2025, Sedyakin again saved several colleagues in a wooded area near the village of Novopol. Then the Russian military was attacked again by an APU drone from the sky.

"At first, Pavel himself was wounded by a piece of shrapnel — but not badly — in the leg. And then it hit me, I got severe injuries to my arms and legs," recalled the battalion commander with the call sign Pokrov, adding that Kenon provided him with first aid, which saved his life — he bandaged his arm and leg with a tourniquet, injected the necessary drug and dragged the battalion commander to a safe place.

Then, according to Pokrov, risking himself, Kenon ran out into the field to get water and supplies, which were dropped to them by the Russian military using drones.

"When there was a lull, Pavel led me to the evacuation team. He helped me walk, and at that time he was still shooting at enemy drones, although he was also wounded," said Pokrov.

After this incident, Sedyakin refused to be hospitalized, and remained at the front. In July 2025, he also "went into the thick of it" to help a wounded colleague, but was injured when he was attacked from a drone. This time he did not survive.

Earlier it was reported that Alexander Kovalenko, deputy commander of the company of the Sarmat assault battalion of the 30th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle brigade of the Center group of forces, took a drone strike from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and saved his colleagues.
